As a staff accountant you can expect to assist on a variety of client engagements, including working as a member of an audit engagement team, preparing individual and corporate tax returns, preparing financial projections, researching tax issues and other business inquiries for a client.       A qualified staff accountant has a BS in Accounting, is detail oriented and able to handle a fast-paced work environment. CPA eligibility is a plus.

      Job Positions:

      Staff Accountant

      The ideal candidate will have an accounting degree from a major university, and any level of experience, including entry level, up to 3 years.

      Responsibilities:

      • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
      • Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
      • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
      • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
      • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
      • Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
      • Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation.
      • Completes audit workpapers by documenting audit tests and findings.
      • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
      • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
      • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
